12ft/lbs Rapid Range Rifles
Tuning is uneconomical work for the manfacturer to carry out within a standardised production run, Ben Taylor and Son are able to offer this service through their dedicated workshop facility.
This involves machining of the receiver and barrel and on the Mk2 and MFR the regulator is modified substantially to allow the air to flow in the most economical way.
The Rapid range is already the most economical consumer of air on the market but fine tuning can give you more shots per charge and greater consistency. Typical example for a 12ft/lbs rifle is an increase of 8-10% more shots per charge for a .22 rifle and even more for .177 and .20 calibres.
F.A.C. Rapid Range Rifles
Mk1 rifles can be modified to give almost double the existing number of shots per charge - 100 at 30ft/lbs for a .22 calibre with a 19" barrel, alternatively you can specify higher power with a lower number of shots - 50 at 35-28ft/lbs.
Mk2 rifles can be upgraded to F.A.C. power (Fire Arms Certificate required) incorporating the standard 16" barrel and a modified version of the standard guns pressure regulator.
This particular rifle conversion gives around 100 shots at 26ft/lbs with absolutely no power curve.
Long barrel Mk2 versions are capable of 100 shots at 30ft/lbs or 75 shots at 40ft/lbs for unregulated rifles fitted with a fast flow adaptor.
